Chromatic Aberration
Development of a chromatic typography for climate change
Tiago Rego
The aim of this project was to create a chromatic typographic system focused on climate change. In a first phase, the typeface was designed digitally, followed by the making of physical type matrices to be used in a workshop. Each character is made up of three layers, providing a balance between complexity and clarity and introducing enough variation to be visually engaging. In short, this project highlights the continuing relevance of typography in the contemporary world, exploring the intersection between digital and analog media. It also highlights the importance of developing innovative approaches to communicating meaningful issues, drawing renewed attention to them in the hope of generating the necessary interest among the public.
