The Crystal Goblet, or Printing Should Be Invisible
Melissa Gaviria Henao
The first EADT UC module explores the culture and classical knowledge of typographic and editorial design, where the essential rules that determine functionality or pragmatism in typographic and editorial design are studied and applied, while seeking invisibility (of the medium and the author). The text analyzed and diagrammed was “The crystal goblet, or printing should be invisible” by Beatrice Warde.

The project presented attempts to demonstrate how design is a medium that can alter the message and become the center of the object over the text and information being delivered. It is a way to demonstrate how design can not be invisible.
