Origen histórico de la terminología usada en la anatomía del libro
Melissa Gaviria Henao
This document explores how the terms we use today to describe the various components of a book developed. Understanding the origins of these terms and the parts that make up a book is essential for educational purposes, as it allows editorial designers and students who are just beginning their journey, and who are unfamiliar with much of this terminology, to connect with history beyond the traditional analog medium or today’s digital medium, to draw inspiration from its roots and to appreciate the value of their profession. The research presented here is based on historical inquiry, the analysis of textual documents and the comparison of various sources to compile the origins of the basic terms used in book anatomy.
