Ardina
Bruna Chichavel, Luís Lopes, Maria Luísa Pinto and Roberta Miranda
Created as a revival of the Tialira typeface by the celebrated Portuguese typographer Manuel Pereira da Silva, Ardina was developed collectively by Bruna Chichavel, Luís Lopes, Maria Luísa Pinto and Roberta Miranda. It is a sans serif typeface with simple, geometric forms.

Starting from research into families of the same kind, known both globally and locally, it was also inspired by typefaces such as Paul Renner’s Futura (1927), seeking to challenge some rules and to stand the test of time.
Ardina was built as a variable family which, thanks to its broad proportions and modular structure, covers several widths, from Regular to Ultra Wide. Taking advantage of its plastic potential, a Manual weight was developed, inspired by stencil rulers. This range of weights makes the typeface suitable for a number of uses, such as running text, book covers, newspapers, logos, branding and more.
Ardina is a typeface for the ordinary citizen that respects the classics but also glimpses a certain amount of avant-garde and humor in everyday life.
