Não Pedi Para ser adulto

Developed for Illustration Contexts and Practices, this project created an illustrated narrative from an everyday object, transforming it and exploring its narrative and symbolic potential. The chosen object was a childhood plush toy, Puffy, who becomes the protagonist of a reflection on growing up and the challenges of adult life.

In a poetic, sensitive and introspective tone, the book follows Puffy’s transition into adulthood, exploring experiences such as anxiety, exhaustion, difficulty setting boundaries, the pressure of responsibilities and the importance of pauses and presence. It uses the personification of the plush toy and visual metaphor to address everyday emotions and situations, offering an empathetic and accessible reading of the process of growing up.

The visual language balances the playful, affectionate world of plush toys with the emotional complexity of the themes. Through illustration, composition and the relationship between text and image, the project builds a narrative world that invites identification and reflection. The plush toy, associated with childhood and comfort, links different stages of life, embracing vulnerability, self-awareness and the acceptance that growing up does not mean having all the answers.
