Obsessions

Obsessions — Ana Rita Ribeiro, Catarina Silva, Fabiana Oliveira e Luísa Carmo

Obsessions
Ana Rita Ribeiro, Catarina Silva, Fabiana Oliveira and Luísa Carmo

The project is a quarterly magazine built on a strong central concept: obsession. The idea came from wanting to explore how certain passions, interests or collections can take on an important place in people’s lives, becoming part of their identity and creative process. The magazine gives space to these stories and niche communities, valuing practices that often go unnoticed.

A complete editorial proposal was developed, defining the target audience, content structure and visual identity. The magazine is aimed mainly at people interested in visual culture, art, creative processes and collecting. At the same time, it reaffirms the value of print at a time when most content is consumed digitally.

Graphically, a visual language was created in Adobe Illustrator and InDesign, marked by dynamic compositions, strong typographic hierarchies and expressive use of images. The layout is built on a seven-column grid, allowing different reading rhythms throughout. The typefaces, ABC Diatype and ABC Diatype Compressed, convey personality and visual impact. Overlapping images, numeric graphics and denser pages reinforce the intensity associated with obsession.

The result is a magazine that aims to inform and inspire, but also to work as a collectible object, encouraging readers to keep every issue.
