Bruta

Bruta revives Blockschrift, a German grotesque released in 1897 by the Genzsch & Heyse foundry, marked by monolinear strokes and low contrast.
From this reference, the project introduces an authorial component tied to the materiality of concrete, cement and raw form, bringing the typeface closer to Brutalism and to the Portuguese expression “à bruta” (roughly, “with brute force”).
