Archive Magazine — Miguel Adrover
Ana Catarina Marques
Archive Magazine is an editorial project conceived as a publication devoted to the work of designers and artists through the construction of individual archives. Each issue gathers and organizes content related to one author’s path and output, creating a publication that is at once a documentary record and a graphic interpretation. The first issue is dedicated to fashion designer Miguel Adrover and explores his career, his practice and the visual context of his work. It brings together images, texts and archival material related to Adrover, building an editorial narrative from the diversity of these sources. The organization of information creates relationships between different moments, images and references, allowing a freer, more visual reading of his work. Formally, the publication measures 23 × 30 cm and explores a dynamic composition based on a six-column grid. Pairing ABC Monument Grotesk with Times New Roman sets different levels of information and shapes the visual identity. The book is covered and painted white, referencing the bianchetto technique — a material intervention that strengthens the link between the editorial object and the artist. Archive Magazine approaches the archive as editorial material, turning documentation about designers and artists into publications that contextualize their life and work.
