Ao sopro da terra

(Because of the personal nature of this project, the synopsis was written in the first person)

Developed from the selection of three objects representing three different people — my grandfather, my mother and myself —, Ao Sopro da Terra grows out of an exploratory journey through grief, memory, tenderness and nostalgia. A tribute to the lives of two people I lost far too soon.

The book is a dialogue between photographs and illustrations that paint memories, more or less clear, of a poem written from the three chosen objects. Ao Sopro da Terra was printed using the cyanotype technique on a book made of unbleached cotton cloth, going through a bleaching and toning process to change the original color of the cyanotype.

Mental landscapes, physical landscapes, landscapes that no longer are, traces, recollections, and the passing of time.
