This week, in the type design course, we will have once again two invited guests co-lecturing the speculative type design workshop “SLOType”. Ana Catarina Silva (IPCD-ESD / ID+) and Eduardo Napoleão (UFSC / Unicamp) will join the staff professor Pedro Amado to co-host the workshop online.
This workshop is part of on-going research on creativity and type design education that has started in 2018. Preliminary results of the research have already been published in the book Advances in Design and Digital Communication.
The workshop — in its current form — has been developed with Julien Priez (@booypaper) and has been lectured in several editions. In the 5ET international Typography Meeting (2015), in the MDD Master at IPCA (2018–2021), at the ATypI international conference (2020), and at the MDGPE Master program at FBAUP (2019).
This year has been marked by the radical change in the procedure, relying on online interaction platforms. Although more complex and time-consuming, results are promising. And it will be a challenging and stimulating experience fro everyone.
Make sure to see the results in the Type Design course website.
