Experimental Poetry 3
Independent publishing in the poetic experimentalism of the 1960s
Bruna Sousa
The Experimental Poetry 3 project aims to recreate and continue the publication Experimental Poetry, anthological notebooks 1 and 2, from 1964 and 1966, respectively. PO.EX was not only a publication but also an avant-garde movement, solidified during the 1960s by a group of poets and artists in Portugal.
As an independent project, the idea emerged to create a third magazine that follows the same premise, with collective creation and traditional printing as its guiding principles. Exactly 60 years after the first edition, this project analyzes the historical context from which it originated and its relevance today. The result is a publication featuring works from various authors, printed and reproduced in a workshop setting.
Throughout the project, the intimate connection between poetry and its semantic, graphic, and visual value is explored through documentary research and an exploration of traditional printing techniques.
