Design gráfico como ferramenta de conscientização política: Análise dos Estereótipos Visuais nas Capas dos Livros de Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
Creating a cover involves the collaboration of several people,
and marketing plays an essential role in promoting and
marketing. Visual stereotypes are graphic representations that
reinforce prejudices about specific groups.
This work investigates the use of visual stereotypes on the covers of Chimamanda Adichie’s books, through graphic and semiotic analysis. The research seeks to identify standards that reinforce prejudices related to gender, race, and location.
The graphic elements present on the covers of the seven books were analyzed by the author, seeking to understand how they can perpetuate stereotypes.
The results intend to promote a reflection on how the design of
covers conveys symbols that reinforce prejudices. Furthermore, the
study also explores innovative and unconventional graphic alternatives that challenge these visual norms.
