Beatriz de Lima, Marco Gouveia (2nd year students), and Mariana Braga (finishing student) were invited to design the Splash Screen for the Adobe InCopy 2023 software. A (in)direct result from publishing and promoting their original typeface design — Diamond Grotesk — developed in the Type Design 2021 course.
Francisco Modesto (Chico Studio), one of our alumni from the Multimedia Master (FEUP+FBAUP), and César Martiniano were shortlisted in the Typography Annual Competition for Communication Arts Magazine with the work “Archipelago Dada – Motion Video”, resulting from César’s final type design research project from the MDGPE.
Ana Rita Antunes (2nd year student). Best Poster Distinction in the Arts, at the 2022 edition of the IJUP – Young Researchers at U.Porto, with the ongoing project “Print Mischief: Development of a system applied to the creation of album covers to be printed in letterpress” soon to be presented.

Abel Martins (2nd year student). Gerard Unger Merit Award from the Type Together foundry with the “Figurat Typeface” from his master’s project “A influência do traçado caligráfico no design de tipos de letra: Desenvolvimento da Figurat, um tipo de letra contemporâneo não-serifado com contraste” presented in 2021.
