For the Contexts and Practices of Illustration (CPI) course’s first assignment, students are prompted to create a mood board, followed by a 5–7 image-based narrative sequence by reflecting on issues related to the intersection between erudite culture and popular culture; citation, reference, homage; investigation of phenomena from local and popular culture, from legends, stories, people, events, every day, and vernacular experiences intertwined with the heritage of the universal history of art.
