2025 marks the 125th anniversary of the first edition of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, by L. Frank Baum, a story that has shaped several generations with its timeless values and narratives. Friendship, courage and self-knowledge continue to bring this children’s classic to life.

To mark this milestone, I developed a limited edition that pays tribute to the tale, pairing it with a contemporary graphic reinterpretation and updating its visual identity.

The project involved creating a new editorial layout and producing original illustrations of the main characters. They were drawn without facial features, an aesthetic choice that heightens expressiveness and stimulates the reader’s imagination.

The book was produced as a hardcover, in the traditional green and black color palette, resulting in a graphic solution that respects the original world of the work while offering a contemporary reading.

The proposal aims to make the reading experience current and relevant, even 125 years on, showing how a classic can be visually reinterpreted.

As an editorial project, this work combines literary heritage with an innovative design approach, creating a product that honors and renews one of the greatest tales of all time.
