Menocome\u00e7o: Discovering and Re-signifying Menopause is a visual, introspective manual in twelve chapters that proposes a feminist reading of menopause, understanding it not as an ending but as a singular transition, unique to each woman. The visual concept associates femininity with the image of the flower \u2014 fragile and delicate, yet free and untamable \u2014 rendered in loose, fluid watercolors that follow the rhythm of this stage of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The book has two parts: a \u201cmanual\u201d section, with infographic representations to help face this new stage, and a section of introspective and symbolic texts, excerpts from Reinterpreting Menopause: Cultural and Philosophical Issues (Komesaroff, Rothfield & Daly, 1997). The structure follows a logic of feeling, understanding and re-signifying \u2014 not seeking to change the symbols associated with menopause, but to give them new meaning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
