For Illustration Contexts and Practices, the project began with the selection of three personal objects that became the starting point for an illustrated narrative: a childhood photograph, a Heidi DVD and a brace for double scoliosis. The ideas associated with them were, respectively, tradition and the stone house; grandfather\u2019s house; support and enduring. A visual narrative was then developed around a collection of small stories that unfold across four houses, each tied to many memories, spaces and atmospheres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The final object takes the shape of an asymmetrical house. All illustrations were made by hand in oil pastel and wax crayon, and all texts were hand-lettered, with some digital improvements and assembly in Adobe Photoshop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The book explores nostalgia and memory, as well as the building of one\u2019s own future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
