Assistant Professor at the Department of Design of the FBAUP, lecturing in the areas of Communication Design and Communication Sciences (Visual Communication; Photography; Multimedia Narratives). Worked as a schoolbook illustrator for a few years in one of the country&#8217;s leading publishing houses. She develops research in the epistemological field of Image, intersecting the fields of communication design, visual literacy, and photography. She is also interested in new modes of sustainable production of images, both analog and digital. Develops research into the language of images and how they can be a tool to see, understand the world and the other through ourselves. Lives and works in Porto. He began his academic training in Federal Germany, passing through Coimbra and then Porto, the city where, in 1987, he finished his degree in Communication Design at FBAUP. In that same year, he was admitted as a lecturer at the Design Department of that faculty, where he currently teaches. Among his projects, the collaboration with CTT &#8211; Correios de Portugal, Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Calouste Gulbenkian and Casa da Moeda stands out. He has participated (individually or representing Portugal) in several world congresses of ICOGRADA. He was co-organizer of the ICOGRADA\/LISBON 95 Congress. He is a member of the Portuguese Association of Designers and of the Art Directors Club (NY). Editorial designer for different publishing groups such as Leya. He is currently the <a href=\"https:\/\/mdgpe.fba.up.pt\/\">Director of the Master&#8217;s Program in Graphic Design and Editorial Projects (MDGPE)<\/a> an Associate Professor of Typography and Typeface Design, Web Design and Methodologies at FBAUP. Integrated researcher and member of the direction of the <a href=\"https:\/\/i2ads.up.pt\/\">i2ADS research institute<\/a> (responsible for design and communication areas). <a href=\"https:\/\/idmais.org\/\">ID+ research institute<\/a> collaborator, a founding member of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ATIPO-100295191379525\/\">ATIPO typography association<\/a>, and country delegate for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.atypi.org\/\">ATypI international association<\/a>.
